NZLavender is New Zealand’s largest commercial lavender farm. We produce the finest quality lavender oil and distribute it all around the world.
Our farm is situated on the green, fertile Canterbury plains in the South Island of New Zealand. Every summer over 110,000 Lavandula angustifolia plants – the 'true lavender' – turn the view purple with a spectacular show of flowers, set against a backdrop of the majestic Southern Alps.
These flowers are the source of NZLavender's specialised hypoallergenic, pharmaceutical-quality lavender essential oil. There are many different types of lavender, but our special variety of true lavender has been selected for its unique oil properties and as a result, our NZLavender oil is highly sought after as arguably the world's first hypoallergenic, pure unadulterated lavender oil.
The NZLavender Management Team
NZLavender isn’t just a business; it is our way of life. We are the management team – Dr Philip Simms and Owen Dexter – and we are personally involved in the whole process from plant to oil, so can guarantee the purity of our product and our method, every step of the way.
We have carefully selected a unique, naturally occurring cultivar of Lavandula angustifolia found in New Zealand and applied precision distillation methods and storage techniques in order to produce our special lavender oil. We do all the work – the planting, the weeding, the harvesting and the distilling - and draw on our extensive agricultural, scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge to ensure NZLavender produces oil to the highest international standards.
