Just a few minutes drive from the city of Christchurch, on the verdant Canterbury plains is New Zealand's largest commercial lavender farm. Every December and January over 110,000 “Lavandula angustifolia” plants turn the view purple with a spectacular show of flowers set against a backdrop of the majestic Southern Alps.
The flowers are the source of NZLavender's greatest achievement, the production of specialised hypoallergenic, pharmaceutical quality essential oil distilled to the highest international standards. The high UV light in Canterbury has been shown to simulate the high altitude growing conditions of Provence, France, helping NZLavender produce an essential oil rich in bio-actives.

- 20 years agricultural experience in the Canterbury region.
- Director of a 365-acre dairy unit comprising of 300 cows.
Owen and Philip are drawing on their extensive agricultural, scientific and pharmaceutical knowledge to ensure that NZLavender produces oil to the highest standard possible.
