NZLavender Grown in New Zealand
At NZLavender we pay great attention to detail at all times.
International consultants were used during the designing of the farm including:
- lavender cultivar selection,
- irrigation installation,
- and steam distillation processing.
- plant nutrition,
- distillery construction,

Each step of the process from the planting of the cuttings to the storage of the oil after harvest has been thoroughly researched to enable us to attain the highest possible standards.
Among the quality processes in place we take pride in having:
- The only Clier harvester from Provence, France in the Southern Hemisphere
- Annual yields maintained with the use of 73 km of irrigation drip tape
- A computerised distillery constructed in Australia by J Dexter Engineering and made out of food grade stainless steel to the bespoke design of Tim Denny of Denny, McKenzie Associates, Tasmania, Australia (distillation engineer & consultant to the Essential Oils Industry).
- A distillation process finely tuned with the assistance of Dr Noel G Porter B.Sc. (Hons) PhD, NZ Institute for Crop & Food Research, Lincoln (natural product crops scientist).
At NZLavender we take the storage of our oil very seriously, fully aware of the harmful effects water, oxygen, heat, strong light and certain metals can have on lavender oil. To maintain the quality of the oil it is dried using anhydrous sodium sulphate before being stored at 4°C, under argon gas in aluminium containers.
